Jesus Christ altered the focus and understanding of the Temple of God from a building structure, as well as the location of the glory of God. The Apostle Paul revealed the Church (those who have God’s Holy Spirit) and the individual members (those who are vessels of God’s Holy Spirit) have a responsibility to conduct their lives (physically and spiritually) as the pillar and ground of the truth. Jesus Christ cleansed the physical Temple of God, at His time on earth, as a human, at the beginning and end of His ministry. As David considered his life, he asked God to “purge” him with hyssop, we need to evaluate ourselves in self-examination to consider the influence that Satan and our society under Satan’s influence, may be having on us.
